AHRQ has awarded a multidisciplinary research team just under $1,000,000 for their project "IDEAS for a Healthy Baby." The team is headed by Dr. Sarah Goff, Medicine-Pediatrics residency faculty member and core faculty member of the Center for Quality of Care Research.
IDEAS will study the effectiveness of using a patient navigator to help pregnant women use publicly reported quality data when choosing a pediatrician.
Goff is joined by co-investigators Peter Lindenauer, MD, MSc, director of the CQCR, Katherine White MD, MPH, Division Chief of General Obstetrics and Gynecology and Head of the Family Planning Section, Penny Pekow, PhD, lead biostatistician with the CQCR, and Kathleen Mazor, EdD, a research scientist with UMASS Medical School and the Meyers Primary Care Institute. Biostatistician Jill Avrunin, research coordinator Jasmin Roberts and research assistant Yara Youseff round out the team.
