Most of us know someone who has suffered with cancer, and references to the disease seem unavoidable. When you or someone close to you is diagnosed with cancer, it's like hearing about the disease for the first time. Patients wonder:
- How their condition should be treated
- What the outcome of that treatment will be
- How their illness and therapy will affect their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
The Baystate Regional Cancer Program is the primary place in western Massachusetts to get answers and receive treatment.
At the Baystate Regional Cancer Program, patients and their families have confidence that our coordinated approach to cancer care management assures them state-of-the-art treatments and the greatest likelihood of successful outcomes.
We treat every patient as an individual with a unique medical situation and life experience. Each has a distinct set of social needs that we must address.
Cancer care offered by the Baystate Regional Cancer Program includes:
- Radiation oncology
- Medical oncology
- Surgical oncology
- Our renowned Comprehensive Breast Center
- Integrated medical and surgical services, including thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery and more, as well as support services such as social work, spiritual services, financial consultations, etc.
All these have contributed significantly to improved outcomes for our patients.
Baystate's world-class pathology and radiation oncology departments provide outstanding support to our efforts to diagnose and treat malignancies. And our rapidly-expanding clinical research division offers patients access to the latest investigational therapies as well as assuring patients of high-quality care by monitoring the outcomes of our efforts.
