Tips for Online Applicants

Welcome! Here are some tips on searching and applying online for a position at Baystate Health. These will make the process simple and efficient. We have also provided some additional information just for physicians, nurses, allied health and information technology professionals and about internships and volunteering at Baystate Health.


How online search and application works 

 

Click on the button at the bottom of the Career Opportunities homepage to go to the eRecruit Applicant Homepage.  You can:

  • View Job Postings.
  • Apply online for job openings that interest you.

To get started:

  • Log in if you are a returning applicant with a user name, password, resume and other personal information on file.
  • Register now to create your user name and password.

 

To view Job Postings

The Careers home page displays the 100 most recently posted open positions.


You have two options for searching all other open positions: Basic and Advanced.

 

Basic

  • Enter Keyword(s) specific to the type of job you are seeking
  • Identify a posting date range if you only want to see openings posted since your last search.
  • Click the yellow Search button.

 

Advanced 

Advanced allows you to search on any of the following:

  • Keywords
  • Work locations (Greenfield, Springfield, Ware, etc.)
  • Job categories (physician, nurse, management, technician, food service, etc.)
  • Employment status - full-time, part-time, or per diem
  • Specific information you may already know:
    • Job opening ID
    • Recruiter name
    • Hiring manager name
    • Date range of job posting
    • Anytime
    • Last month
    • Last three weeks
    • Last week
    • Last year

Click on the Posting Title for more information about the job.


When finished with the full description, select Return to Job Postings at the bottom of the page.

To apply for a position

 

  • Click the check box to select a posting you want to apply for.
  • You may apply for up to three job postings per day.
  • Once you have chosen up to three positions, select Apply Now.
  • If you are not already registered and logged in,the system will ask you to do so in order to continue with your application.
  • At the resume section:

 

  • Select a resume option and follow the instructions provided:
    • Upload a new resume from your computer (we cannot pre-fill information from a copied resume).
    • If you do this, our program can automatically prefill much of your information into the online application form.
    • You can do this in three easy ways by choosing the upload your resume option immediately after registering or logging in and selecting a position to apply for. 
    • You can upload from:
      • Your computer hard drive
      • A CD-rom or diskette from an auxiliary drive on your computer
      • A flash drive - remember to bring this with you if you apply in person at Baystate Recruitment.
  • You will have a chance to review and edit the prefilled information.
  • You can also:
    • Copy and paste resume text from a file on your computer
    • Use an existing resume already on file with our system
    • Apply without a resume


Select Continue

  • If it is your first time completing an application, fill out the required information (those with an asterisk) on the “profile” page.
  • Fill out all required details under the following links, “ Preference, Work History, Education, Licenses and Language, References, and Application Questionnaire”
  • You may select “Save for Later” at any time to save your application
  • Selecting “Next” will advance you to the following section
  • Select “Submit” when you have completed all sections of the application

 

If Baystate Health wants to take action on your application

 

Baystate Health Recruiting professional reviews all submitted job applications.

A representative from Baystate Health Recruiting will contact you for more information and/or to invite you to a telephone or live interview.

If you need assistance....

If you experience difficulty in completing your online application, you may receive assistance in the application process at any Baystate Recruitment office.

 

Possible causes for difficulty submitting online employment applications from Career Opportunities on www.BaystateHealth.com include:

 

  • Pop-Up Blockers that may interfere with proper viewing and using the online application process.
  • Some 3rd Party Browser plugins such as tool or search bars of commercial search engines may have built-in pop-up blockers.
  • A Security Firewall installed on your computer or through your Internet Service Provider may also interfere with proper viewing and using the online application process.
  • Access to our network from computers within other networks can also interfere with proper viewing and using the online application process.
  • Parental Controls set up on your computer may also interfere with your ability to browse and select and upload your resume to your online application.
  • If 'Cookies' are not enabled you will receive an online message.

Baystate Health does not recommend removal of any security hardware or software or changing Parental Controls or browser settings as this has potential for impact on other usage of your computer.

 

If you experience difficulty in the application process, you may apply online at any Baystate Recruitment office or at your local public library, if they provide computers with internet access.

Do I have to complete every section of the online form?

We identify with an asterisk (*) the required fields. For other categories, we urge you to provide the most complete information possible to ensure that our screening process considers all your experience, skills and attributes.

 

If I am only interested in employment at one Baystate Health location, what do I do?

You can specify a location in your job search.

 

What do I do once I enter my online Resume? I can't find a way to go back and search/apply for jobs.

Select Careers Home to go back to the Applicant Home Page.

 

How can I get help with my online application?

Will Baystate Health notify me whether or not you plan to take action on my application?

  • You will receive an e-mail acknowledgement when you submit an application.
  • If your qualifications meet the criteria of the job, a recruiter will contact you.
  • If you do not meet the qualifications, we will notify you by email.
  • How can I track my applications for positions at Baystate Health?

 

You have two options:

 

  • On the Careers Home page under My Career Tools, you can view the positions that you have applied for, including:
    • Job title
    • Status of application
    • Date of application
    • There is also a Notifications section on the Careers Home page where you will be notified about new positions that match your My Saved Searches.

What is my country code?

 

This field is for applicants from outside the USA only. It is a numeric code. If you do not know it, leave it blank and select "Next."

 

What are the hours of shifts at Baystate Health?

Exact shift hours may vary by job or department, but generally:

 

  • First Shift = normal daytime hours, such as 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Second Shift = late afternoon/early evening hours, such as 4 p.m. to 12 midnight
  • Third Shift = late night hours, such as 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
