Your time is valuable, whether you are at work or at home with family or friends. At Baystate Medical Center, we are pleased to offer you a work schedule you can adapt to best suit your needs -- through full and part-time shifts, night shifts, the Flex Team and Weekends Only programs.
The Weekends Only program is for nurses who prefer to work weekends only. Nurses who are part of the program:
- Work two 12-hour shifts every weekend plus one of three winter and summer holidays
- Are eligible for two days (24 hours) of paid time off after completing a 13-week work period
- Receive a special pay differential ($6/hour for days, $8/hour for nights) in addition to their regular pay and other differentials
- Qualify for the same benefits as all BMC employees who work 24 hours per week
- Are eligible for the Nursing Clinical Recognition Program.
Requirements for the Weekends Only Program are as follows:
- Nurses must have a minimum of one year related experience in the RN specialty area where they plan to work.
- Weekends Only staff may not take a second position with regularly scheduled hours. They may, however, work on a per-diem basis in addition to their weekend position and receive regular shift differentials and pay for these hours, as appropriate.
- A nurse must work in the Weekends Only Program for a minimum of six months before transferring internally to another position.
We look forward to working with you to create a work schedule that's best for you. To learn more about the Weekends Only Program or other flexible scheduling options, please call Recruitment & Staffing at 413-794-3666.
