
The Social Work department helps those patients and their families staying at Baystate Medical Center with problems resulting from, or impacting, their medical illness or medical trauma.
Help we provide:
- Adjustment to illness or injury
- Family and interpersonal stressors
- Other psycho-social difficulties

Our Services:
- Social Work provides coverage 24-hours a day, 7-days a week
- Social Work coverage in the Emergency Department is present to support patients and families in crisis as a result of trauma or other emergency conditions.
- Counseling interventions and referrals to community agencies and other supports can be provided to patients and families related to the following issues:
