Class discusses the patient experience that occurs from the morning you come into Baystate Medical Center, through your surgery, your post-operative care, up until you return home.

How we will partner with you to:
- Manage your pain
- Care for you and your chest tubes, dressings & incision
Practical exercises for:
- Coughing and deep breathing
- Using an Incentive Spirometer
- Re-expanding your lungs after surgery and general anesthesia.

HOW TO ENROLL:
|
When the doctor’s office staff schedules your surgery, they will also schedule you for this important class to provide you the education necessary for an optimal patient experience. The Daly 6-2 nurses look forward to meeting you!

PARKING AND OTHER DETAILS:
|
When you come in for Pre-Admission Evaluation in the Chestnut Building, you will have a complete health assessment done. You will also have your blood drawn, EKG & chest x-ray done, if needed.
You may have a short wait until 10:00am when the class starts. A nurse from Daly 6-2 will escort you from the Chestnut Building to the Daly Building for class and return you to the Chestnut Building at the end of the class.
