General Obstetrics and Gynecology is the largest division in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Composed of physicians and nurse practitioners, our two largest outpatient offices are Baystate Wesson Women’s Group and Wesson Women’s Clinic. Our physicians are on the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine and keep current on the latest innovations in obstetrics and gynecology by teaching both medical students and residents, and participating in clinical research.
For obstetric care, we specialize in moderate risk pregnancies and work closely with our partner practices, Baystate Reproductive Medicine and Baystate Maternal Fetal Medicine. Our pregnant patients labor and deliver at the state of the art Wesson Women and Infants Building. All of our obstetric care is documented and recorded in an obstetric specific electronic medical record.
We also have expertise in the areas of minimally invasive and robotic surgery, which includes treatment of endometriosis, heavy and abnormal uterine bleeding and fibroids. We also specialize in the areas of chronic pelvic pain, pre-invasive cervical and vulvar disease, and perimenopausal and menopausal issues. We have the only board certified Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecologic specialist in the area, as well as a fellowship trained expert in Family Planning.
With the help of our excellent nursing team, we consider communication with our patients one of our strengths. We want to partner with you to improve your health, minimize side effects from diseases or medicines and undergo the least invasive therapies possible. We utilize computerized charting and electronic prescribing practices and are available by phone 24 hours a day to meet the emergent needs of our patients.
New patients are welcome. We look forward to serving your health care needs.
