Collaboration with graduate programs at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is bringing the benefits of cancer research to patients of the Comprehensive Breast Center. Linking the basic science programs at UMass with the clinical expertise at the Comprehensive Breast Center provides an opportunity for high-quality research, and there are a number of collaborative projects now underway involving the two institutions, said Dr. Makari-Judson.
In addition to basic science research, linking scientists with clinicians, the Comprehensive Breast Center continues to take an active role in clinical research, applying the findings of research to patient care.
