Benefits of Volunteering

What are some of the benefits of volunteering?

  • Reinvent yourself:  do something new and different.
  • Meet great people and establish new friendships.
  • Give back to your community.
  • Stay two hours or more and get a $5 lunch voucher for that day.
  • Enjoy two fabulous parties each year:  National Volunteer Week breakfast in April and a holiday party in December.
  • Participate in BFMC events, trips (we do a volunteer bus trip annually that is reasonably priced and fun), holiday meal for staff and volunteers, vendor sales in our lobby, picnic in the summer, and any other hospital-related social functions.
  • Educational programs are available.
  • Get free flu shots.
  • Volunteer on such special projects as our Employee Craft Fair, Chocolate Fantasy, children’s holiday party, and other events.
  • Enjoy yourself and constructively fill your time in a rewarding atmosphere
  • We do offer experiences to shadow different departments if there are numerous needs and volunteers want to observe opportunities
  • We have over 35 departments that have volunteers:  there is almost always a positive match for volunteers
