Baystate Mary Lane Hospital expands outpatient cardiology services, welcoming Drs. Cook and Marantz

Ware- Baystate Mary Lane Hospital announces that Dr. James R. Cook and Dr. Thomas M. Marantz, are now providing outpatient non-invasive cardiology services as part of a growing multi-specially group. They will be providing cardiology care at Baystate Medical Practices-Quabbin Adult Medicine located at Suite 3 at the hospital. 

 

“We are proud to welcome these cardiologists to our growing medical staff,” said Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer of Baystate Mary Lane and Baystate Health Eastern Region.  “Their extensive background in this speciality will allow us to expand and strengthen cardiology services in our community. Dr. Harshad V. Sanghvi also provides cardiology care in his private practice, located at 83 South Street in Ware.” 

 

Dr. Cook earned his medical degree from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College and his cardiology fellowship in the Division of Cardiology at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.  Dr. Cook is the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Program at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

 

Dr. Marantz earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, and completed his cardiology fellowship at Brown University in Providence Rhode Island.  He specializes in general cardiology and has a special interest in coronary artery disease and heart failure.  Dr. Marantz is a member of Baystate Medical Practices, Northampton Cardiology.  


Dr. Cook and Dr. Marantz are members of the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine and are part of the Baystate Health’s team of cardiology physicians, many of whom are nationally recognized for their expertise in patient care, clinical research, and medical education.  They will provide comprehensive cardiovascular care and subspecialty management of arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, valvular heart disease, peripheral vascular disease and heart failure.  

 

Dr. Harshad Sanghvi earned his medical degree at M S University in Baroda, India.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey and his fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio.  Dr Sanghvi has been providing cardiology care at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital since 1987.   He specializes in noninvasive cardiology with special interest in Echocardiography, valvular heart disease, ischemic heart disease and congestive heart failure.   He also runs a pacemaker clinic in his office to serve the local community.
