About Our Practice:

Baystate Critical Care Medicine cares for adult critically ill medical and surgical inpatients in Baystate's 24-bed Intensive Care Unit.  Our annual volume is approximately 1,600 patients - 45% surgical and 55% medical.  The ICU is run by board certified Critical Care Specialists whose primary disciplines are Anesthesia, Internal Medicine or Surgery.  The attending physician staff, who are on the faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine Western Campus, is committed to the highest quality, evidence-based patient care, including support of the patient's family with advice and prognostic information. 


Our education programs train residents and fellows, as well as other attending physicians.  Our physicians, nationally and internationally known for research on:

  -  Sepsis and septic shock

  -  Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)

  -  Advanced monitoring devices

  -  Risk stratification and out assessment of critically ill patients

have authored numerous publications.

If you have commercial insurance coverage, primary or secondary, we will submit a claim to your insurance carrier. You are responsible for all balances due after your insurance company pays its portion, as well as for any co-payments required by your insurance company at the time of the visit.
