| Services Include: |
24-hour care for patients while they are in the hospital by a hospital-based team of internal medicine hospitalists. The hospitalists provide liaison between the hospital departments and the patient's primary care physician, especially for patients whose physicians do not have privileges to practice at Baystate Medical Center. |

| About Our Practice: |
Hospitalists are board certified internal medicine physicians who devote themselves to caring for hospital patients. The hospitalists affiliated with Baystate Hospital Medicine - Baystate Medical Center partner with area primary care physicians to ensure that their patients receive quality care while in the hospital. Because hospitalists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of seriously ill patients and are based exclusively in the hospital, hospitalists can respond quickly to patients' needs. They do not have patient responsibilities outside of the hospital.
Hospitalists conduct daily rounds and are availability on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They also care for patients admitted through the Emergency Department who do not have a primary care physician.
