Hospitalists are board-certified internal medicine physicians whose practice is devoted to providing care for hospitalized patients. The hospitalists in Baystate Medical Practices - Hospital Medicine - BMLH partner with area primary care physicians to offer quality care to their patients who are admitted to Baystate Mary Lane Hospital. Because they are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of seriously ill patients and are based in the hospital, hospitalists can respond quickly to patients' needs. Hospitalists conduct daily rounds and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They also care for patients admitted through the Emergency Department who do not have a primary care physician.
