As Vice President Finance Support Services, Peter Lyons oversees a core support service group focused on hospital business operations, reimbursement, and financial operations including general ledger, taxation, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting. He also oversees the treasury function for the System, including bank relations, cash and investment management.
He has been associated with Baystate for over 19 years; he first joined Baystate as Director of Corporate Accounting. During 1998 to 2001 he served as Vice President of Finance at Health New England, Inc. Prior to joining BHS, Mr. Lyons served as Assistant Director of Investment Accounting for the Travelers Group, responsible for an investment accounting and reporting function of approximately $3 billion of client funds under management. In addition, Mr. Lyons was an Audit Supervisor for Ernst & Young, responsible for various healthcare clients including Hartford Hospital.
Mr. Lyons holds BS and MBA degrees in Finance from the University of Connecticut and is a Certified Public Accountant.
