As Interim Chair, Dr. Gianturco oversees the planning, program, operational, financial, educational, and quality aspects of the Radiology Department at Baystate Medical Center.

Dr. Gianturco served as Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology for the VA Health Care System Boston for 5 years, then the Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at Baystate Medical Center for 4 years before being appointed Interim Chair of Radiology in 2008.  Dr. Gianturco’s special interest is in resident education. She was appointed the department teacher of the year twice, and now serves as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Radiology and as a team member of the Maintenance of Certification for Nuclear Radiology.

Dr. Gianturco received her MD degree from the University of North Carolina and completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.  She has completed 2 fellowships in interventional radiology at Beth Israel and Abdominal Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital.  She is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and in Nuclear Radiology and Nuclear Cardiology.
