As a member of Springfield Anesthesia Services, which has an exclusive agreement with Baystate to provide professional anesthesia services, Dr. Bailin leads the highly trained, board certified physicians and nurse anesthetists who ensure our patients’ insensibility to pain during inpatient and outpatient procedures, as well as during childbirth.
Dr. Bailin joined Baystate in May 2011 after serving as interim chief of Anesthesiology for General Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. At Mass General, he also served as Burn Anesthesia Team Leader and the Oral/Maxillofacial Anesthesia Team Leader. As an accomplished clinician, teacher and researcher, he will work closely with the Heart & Vascular and Surgical departments in establishing the delivery of anesthesia services in the new Heart & Vascular Center.
He earned his BS in Biology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MD from Harvard Medical School. He completed a fellowship in Vascular and Thoracic Anesthesia and was chief resident of Anesthesia at Mass General.
