How Does My Gift Make a Difference?
Your support, and the support of your friends and neighbors, allows us to provide high quality and compassionate care. Philanthropy ensures that our doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals have top-notch facilities, equipment, training and tools to provide the best care possible for our community. Your gift also can support our medical, nursing, and other health care teaching facilities and programs; it can help our faculty to pursue medical research and allow them to educate the next generation of caregivers. Your gift says that you value having excellent medical care close to home.
Can I direct my gift to a specific organization or program?
Yes. You may direct your gift to any Baystate Health hospital or other affiliated organization. You also may direct your gift to support a specific program or department. BHF maintains a separate account for each purpose, and the full amount of each gift goes to the organization or specific program designated by the donor.
For example: A gift to BHF may be designated to support the Hospice Program at Baystate Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, to provide needed medical equipment at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, or to support patient care programs at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital.
Can I make an unrestricted gift?
Yes. You may make an unrestricted contribution to BHF, which will be used to support the Baystate Health mission, including the work of our caregivers and health care organizations.
Are my gifts tax-deductible?
Yes. BHF is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, relying on community support to fulfill its mission. Gifts to Baystate Health Foundation are tax deductible as allowed by law, but only your own financial, legal, or tax advisor can determine the tax implications of your gift.
Can I make a gift in honor or memory of someone?
Yes. Upon receipt of your gift, a thank you letter will be sent to you, and a letter acknowledging that an honorary or memorial gift has been given will be sent to the individual you designate. At the time of your gift, please provide to us the names and addresses of those to whom we should forward an acknowledgement. This acknowledgement will not reveal the gift amount, only that an honorary or memorial gift has been made.
Can I donate with a credit card?
Yes. We are glad to accept your credit card donation. To donate, please call us at 413-794-5444 the main page and click on the give online link.
Can I donate stock?

How will my gift be recognized?
