Other Ways To Get Involved

10,000 Steps Toward a Cure Program - It's No Ordinary Walk in the Park!

You can still walk towards a cure for breast cancer, even if other commitments prevent you from walking in the annual Rays of Hope event.  Just register in the 10,000 Steps Toward  Cure Program and commit to walk 10,000 steps – the equivalent of 5-miles – and to set a goal to raise at least $100 in donations, Rays of Hope will send you a complimentary pedometer to track progress toward your goal.

Here's how to become a "10,000 Steps Toward a Cure" member:

  1. Click on "Register Here" and during the registration process, check the "10,000 Stepper" option. We’ll mail you a pedometer and sticker so you can begin raising pledges and walk your 10,000 steps as an individual "stepper" or part of a ‘virtual team.’
  2. Sign the 10,000 Stepper Commitment Pledge!

A few notes:

  • We ask Rays of Hope participants to choose to be either a traditional walker, each of whom receives a team t-shirt, or a “10,000 Stepper” who receives a pedometer.  We cannot provide both a t-shirt and a pedometer. T-shirts and pedometers available while supplies last.
  • 10,000 steps is approximately 5-miles for someone of average height.
  • Please try to complete your steps by Walk Day, October 25, 2009.
  • A team may consist entirely of "10,000 Steppers."  Team Captains for 10,000 Steps teams will receive invitations to all Rays of Hope functions.

Monthly Giving

You may choose to give a donation to Rays of Hope through an ongoing monthly program that makes it easy for you to support our mission.  Through this program, you will be able to provide Rays of Hope with reliable sustaining revenue to help us in the fight against breast cancer.
