Hi! We are glad that you are interested in our Baystate Children’s Hospital Pediatrics Residency Program. We are proud of who we are and the work that we do. We want to share that with you.
Baystate Children’s Hospital is a hospital within a larger general hospital, like most children's hospitals. We have a strong mission of excellent care of patients, care of each other, and promoting academics. We have named our experience of serving kids and their families “The Spirit of the Child” and it guides everything that we do, here in the hospital, in our outpatient clinics, and in the larger community of western Massachusetts.
We work as a team of committed physicians, nurses, technicians, clerical assistants, volunteers, parents, and patients to ensure that everything we do for children is really done with the child in mind. In short, we really believe our motto, “Children Deserve the Best!”
I am particularly excited to welcome Dr. Charlotte Boney as the new Chair of Pediatrics at Baystate Children's Hospital. Dr. Boney joins us from the Alpert Medical School of Brown University where she is Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the division of Pediatric Endocrinology. An accomplished clinician, educator and researcher, she will take over in early January, giving me the opportunity to again focus all my attention on the residency program and Adolescent Medicine.
Please explore our website further—we hope it will entice you to come for a visit. Western Massachusetts is a lovely place to live, to work, to learn, and to grow. We wouldlove to show you how you can be a part of our team. I hope to see you in Springfield soon!
