Goals
This elective offers the fourth year student the opportunity to be intimately involved in the treatment of outpatient and inpatient plastic surgical problems. A wide variety of patients including pediatric cleft lip and palate, breast reconstructive, cosmetic surgery, trauma reconstructive, hand and microsurgery are seen.
Objectives
The student will…
- function at the level of a surgical intern and have responsibilities in the plastic surgical clinic, private office and hospital settings.
- perform preoperative and postoperative evaluations.
- assist in surgical procedures.
- improve upon and expand suturing techniques.
- participate in available clinical research projects if so interested.
