Pain Medicine Fellowship

The Pain Medicine Fellowship offers a 12-month ACGME-accredited training program at Baystate Medical Center, the western campus of Tufts University School of Medicine, for board-eligible or -certified anesthesiologists. There are 3 fellowship positions available.

Summary

The fellow receives a longitudinal experience in the evaluation and treatment of both hospital-based inpatients and ambulatory community-based outpatients who are experiencing acute, chronic, and cancer related pain. The Pain Management Center at Baystate Medical Center offers a unique and sophisticated training opportunity in an out-patient and tertiary-care setting where all aspects of pain management are delivered. The Baystate Medical Center Pain Management in one of the most active pain centers in Western Massachusetts and provides chronic pain management services for more than 13,000 out- patients annually. The faculty physicians are board certified Anesthesiologists with specialized training and expertise in the field of Pain Management. Each has extensive experience in providing successful treatment for a wide range of pain disorders.

 

The philosophy is to treat the whole patient by using a multi-disciplinary approach in pain management and as professionals the members of the Pain Centers are always working together to provide the newest and medically proven options. Those that undertake our fellowship training program gain the opportunity to learn under the guidance of well qualified faculty, the multi-disciplinary approach to pain management. Our goal is to provide an educational and clinical experience that prepares the fellow to function as a pain management consultant across a spectrum of painful conditions and be skilled in the newest invasive treatment modality available today.

  • 10 highly skilled board-certified Pain Specialists with anesthesiology backgrounds
