Michael Flaherty MD Wins National Resident Research Award

Dr. Michael FlahertyDr. Michael Flaherty, PGY3 Pediatrics resident, has been awarded an Academic Pediatric Association Research Award for Best Abstract by a Resident. His abstract is entitled, “Effect of Massachusetts' Graduated Driver Licensing System on Adolescent Motor Vehicle Crashes.”

Dr. Flaherty will be presented with the award and an honorarium of $500 at the APA Research Committee Meeting at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia on May 4, 2014.

According to Dr. Laura Koenigs, Program Director of the Pediatric Residency, this is the second year in a row that a Baystate resident has won a national research award at the annual PAS meeting. Dr. Hijab Zubairi won an award from the Society for Pediatric Research in 2013.
