Nurse residency

Baystate Health’s Nurse Residency Program is a 10-month paid residency program designed for Registered Nurses with less than 10 months of clinical RN nursing experience.

How to apply

We accept applications to the program year-round. You will be placed in a nurse resident cohort that corresponds to your date of hire.

When applying, submit a current resume and a cover letter. In the cover letter include a brief description of your background, short-term and long-term goals, and your top three clinical areas of interest, as well as anything else you would like to mention.

Program Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN, BSN)
• Less than 10 months of clinical RN nursing experience
• Active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts (License is not required to apply, but you must be licensed to begin the program.)

During the program, you will work directly with a unit preceptor and nurse educator for clinical instruction combined with classroom-style seminars and skills/simulation sessions.
